This course will help experienced speakers deliver more dynamic and engaging presentations as they learn delivery techniques that get results. Participants will sharpen their individual styles, and learn to adapt them to a variety of situations.

  • Learn to establish audience-centered purposes for presentations.
  • Create script that supports your purpose in all aspects.
  • Learn vocal and physical contributions to making a strong impression.
  • Review pros and cons of visual aids.

Facilitation Skills

This course will help participants manage and guide a group interaction Participants will learn to help the group identify issues to be addressed, and guide them to resolution through productive discussions.

Objectives:

 

  • Understand the dynamics of group work.
  • Learn strategies for encouraging participation.
  • Know how to synthesize information.
  • Help the group focus on stated goals and refine them as necessary.
  • Help the group identify possible solutions.

Making Meetings Matter

This course will help participants manage and facilitate formal and informal meetings. Participants will learn the components and characteristics of effective meetings and will learn how to make the meetings of their organization run smoothly.

Objectives:

 

  • Understand the importance of pre-meeting planning and preparation.
  • Know the dynamics of meetings and the elements that affect them.
  • Learn ways to encourage participation, discourage time-wasters, and keep audience members focused.
  • Recognize and work with a variety of communication styles.
  • Know the importance of post-meeting follow-up.

Presentation Skills

This course will help participants speak with confidence and competence in a variety of professional settings, including briefings, meetings, and formal presentations. Participants identify the critical elements of effective presentations, and practice applying them to their situations. This course is appropriate for inexperienced and experienced presenters alike. Videotaping may be used, as desired.

This course will help participants develop confidence and competence as trainers. Participants will learn fundamental aspects of teaching and learning, with an emphasis on learner-centered teaching, and will learn processes for translating content to instructional material.

  • Understand how to prepare instructional material.
  • Learn to develop realistic plans for instruction.

  • Learn how to evaluate learning and monitor progress.

Virtual Presentation Skills

This course will help participants create and deliver virtual training programs that are informative, dynamic, and interactive. Participants will learn to adapt their subject matter to the virtual learning format, and to compose and deliver strong presentations.

  • Understand the critical elements of a webinar and how a webinar differs from classroom training.
  • Learn to synthesize content to fit a webinar time period.
  • Create interesting and appropriate slides.
  • Plan interactive elements.
  • Develop ways to stay connected with the audience.
